--- B.O.B.: The Bug Out Bag ---

What is a BOB? Essentially it’s a backpack full of the things you may need if the SHTF.

Ideally you want a decent military grade backpack that you can fit everything into and a weight you can handle, there are many types that include spine protection and load bearing features. Don’t just grab a cool looking backpack from the camping section of Kmart; you’re back will hate you for it later!
I’ve put together a basic list of items you may need, although the list looks long and extensive keep in mind that it’s your life we’re talking about here and the human body is a complex machine.

Later on I’ll be going through the list for a finer look at some of these items but for now here’s the list (in alphabetical order):

Once again; put what you’re likely to need the most towards the top of the pack, I’ll be going through the ideal way to pack a BOB at a later date. Check the used-by-dates on any potentially perishable items regularly, or better still, keep a record of the items you have.

An example of a BOB, packed and ready to go!
